Congratulations Olivia and Nick on Wheat State League honors!
Outstanding performance tonight by the 6-12 music department at Centre. The audience was treated to a wide variety or music that included solos, small ensembles, and choir and band performances. Centre is blessed to have an outstanding music teacher in Amy Harmes who is a dedicated and very talented music educator. Music educators are becoming harder and harder to find and if you don't think music education, or for that matter any of the arts aren't important, listen to the retirement speech by all pro football player and future Hall of Fame member Jason Kelcey who thanked one teacher in his speech, his band teacher! Yes, I may be biased as a former music teacher, but go for a week without listening to the radio or watching TV. Support the Arts, they impact every other subject in school.
Congratulations to the Centre Junior High Choir on their first division rating at the Wheat State League Music Festival last Tuesday. The choir is under the direction of Amy Harmes. Outstanding job!!!
