Due to illness on the Peabody Girls Team, there will be no girls' games tomorrow night, February 9th. Mini Cheer will still perform at halftime of the boys' varsity game. The Centre League and Regional Scholar Bowl Team will be recognized at 6:45 before the Men's game which is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. Homecoming activities will be immediately after the men's varsity game.
There will not be a half of boys J.V basketball on 2/9/24. This is due to Peabody not having enuogh.

At halftime tonight of the Centre vs. Herington Boys game at Herington the Centre Kings 4th and 5TH GRADE BASKETBALL TEAM is being honored and receiving medals for their season in the Marion County League.
This week is School Counselor Appreciation Week and we have three of the best at Centre. Although all three are licensed Social Workers, they take on the role of school counselors as well. We are extremely blessed to have Hillary Kickhaefer, Katelynn Hagemann, and Maranda McMichael at Centre to help our students through their difficult times. Thank you ladies for all of your help and support!!

Congratulations to Addison Bina who made finals and placed 5th in the sophomore prepared public speaking event at the statewide KSU Ag Ed Speech contest! Great job Addison. Proud of your accomplishment!
Congratulations to the Centre Junior High Men's basketball team on taking third place in the Wheat State League Tournament today. The Cougars placed third by defeating Elyria Christian 37-34. Great season team members and coaches!
Congratulations to our Winter Homecoming Candidates! Queen candidates, from L to R, are Mariah Brasch, Leah Brunner, Payton Svitak, and Jenna Bittle (absent when photo was taken). High school students will celebrate the theme "The Four Seasons of Centre" throughout the week with Cougar Pride, Rhyme without Reason, Greek vs. Teacher, Holiday Season, and Formal Friday (Emo/Barbie Twist) spirit days. The Centre Cougars will host Peabody-Burns in basketball court action on Friday, February 9. Coronation taking place immediately following the varsity boys. Homecoming week will conclude on Saturday, February 10, with a STUCO sponsored semi-formal dance/activity night for Centre students and their guests.

Stacey Tischhauser is the Centre 4th Grade Teacher. The attendees were treated to Kansas themed cookies prepared by Marissa Makovic. Outstanding job students and Mrs. Tischhauser and Mrs. Helmer.
Congratulations to the Centre Junior High Boys basketball team on their win last night in the Wheat State League Tournament. The team advances on to the semi-final round Saturday against Little River at 2:15. The game will be played at Solomon High School. Good Luck players and coaches!

Just a reminder that the rescheduled High School Basketball games against Rural Vista will take place Monday, February 5th and will begin at 5:00 with boys J.V. Also, the make-up games with Wakefield have been scheduled for Thursday, February 15 with games starting at 5:00.
Public Speaking Results!
We had 3 FFA Members travel to Buhler to compete our district public speaking contest. Our members wrote speeches over agricultural topics of their choice and then present their topic to a room of judges. We also had one member compete in Extemporaneous Division where they drew a topic and then had 30 minutes to prepare a 4-6 minute speech about the topic and then answer questions over the topic. The results are as follows:
Sophomore Division:

Junior Division:

Kaitlynn Bina: 1st Place Individual!
Extemporaneous Division:
