We are wrapping up School Counselor Week in the Nation and I want to recognize these two amazing ladies that work at Centre. Maranda McMichael and Hillary Kickhaefer are actually licensed social workers, but they take on the responsibilities of school counselors. These two work tirelessly to support the social-emotional needs of our students while working on schedules and everything else all at the same time. They spend hours outside of school time with students and staff who are going through a difficult time to help them navigate to a safer and happier place. They also work extensively with parents, families, and state agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. They don't always have the popular job, but they take it head on anyway, always putting the needs of our students and staff first. Centre is blessed to have these two working at Centre. Words can't express our gratitude for you both. Thank you ladies. You are priceless!

Freshman Swimmer Derrick Harms, who just completed his inaugural boy's swim season, achieved a personal record in the 50 freestyle and dropped 4 seconds in the 100 breaststroke for another personal record. Derrick placed 5th overall out of 32 swimmers in the 100 breaststroke. He competed against swimmers from 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A schools. Congrats on finishing your first season strong!

With a record of 8-2 and 460 total points, the Centre Scholars Bowl team placed 2nd at regionals and will represent Centre at State competition on February 15th at Elyria!
