The HS basketball games at Wichita and HS Scholar's Bowl at Junction City that were scheduled for tonight have been postponed until a later date.
Our 3-8 grade students participated in a schoolwide spelling bee last week to determine who goes on to the Marion County Spelling Bee Wednesday, February 15th at Peabody. Our elementary participants are, Zoey Svoboda - 5th grade, Konnor Nickel - 3rd grade, and Alternate - Vada Cobb - 4th grade.
Our JH participants are, Judah Richard - 7th grade, Adyson Wilson - 6th grade, and , Alternate - Samuel Rziha - 8th grade. Congratulations to the winners and good luck at the county spelling bee!

Here We Go Cougars . . . Here We Go! Winter Homecoming has arrived! STUCO invites all High School Students/Staff to join in on the fun by participating in Spirit Week. (Spirit Week will be for HS only, but we will have other fun activities throughout the week for Elementary and JH Students and Staff)

Here is the brackets for the Cougar Classic to be hosted at Centre next week. The game times will not be known on Friday until after Tuesday's results are finished.
The 3rd-5th grade awards assembly will be this Friday, January 13th beginning at 3:15 in the main gym. Everyone is invited to attend.

Over Christmas Break, someone ran over one of the 45 mph speed limit lights on the southbound lane of Highway 77 by the turnoff for the school. KDOT was informed of it the day after it happened and has ordered parts to replace it. Please be sure you use your turn signal early when turning from the southbound lane of 77 since we have had several close calls of people who don't know it missing. Thank you for being safe!

It's time to purchase 2nd semester milk for Preschool-4th grade. If your child would like to have an afternoon milk during break, please send payments to the school office. The cost is $35 per semester.

I have a correction on the pancake feed tomorrow morning. We will start serving at 8:30 instead of 7:30 since most of the students won't be here until the start of school. We would love to have you join us if you can but you will need to call the school office today so we know how many to plan for in the morning. Thanks
Congrats to members of the All-District Team! These were members selected by the coaches in our football district.
Parents and Guardians,
Your child may come home today and tell you we had a drill today to practice if we ever have to evacuate the building. (An example may be a gas leak on campus) The students and staff did a tremendous job and it went off without a hitch. In the event it was a real-life event, you will be contacted via the phone message service we use for school closings and to give you more information on why we had to evacuate and where you will need to go to pick your student up if transportation arrangements change. Everyone did fantastic today and please know we take the safety of our students and staff very seriously. We prepare for the worst and pray for the best.
On another note, Centre Student Council will be hosting a pancake feed next Tuesday morning beginning at 7:30 AM. The pancake feed is free to all students, staff, and parents. If you would like to join us, please call the school office by next Monday and let the ladies know so we can plan accordingly. Please check your email for further information concerning the flu bug going around.
