Centre Parents, we are sending the buses on the routes at this time and sending students home. Also, the FFA banquet scheduled for this evening has been postponed until tomorrow night at 6:30. Once again, FFA banquet will be Wednesday, May 10th, at 6:30.

Due to threatening weather conditions expected during our regular bus route times, we will release all students at 3:00 this afternoon in order to get students home before the storm hits. Our PTO at Centre is the BEST! They had events scheduled for everyone all week and it culminated in a drawing for some awesome prizes Friday. We can't begin to express how much we appreciate all this group does for our school. Thank you again for all you do! State CDE RESULTS‼️ Our chapter members competed in 7 different state CDEs over the last 3 days and results were announced: Agronomy: State Champions! Centre USD 397: The Artful Eye Show, showcasing art from grades 3-5, is this Friday, May 5th in the small gymnasium at Centre. Doors open at 6:30 for viewing the art exhibit. All students should arrive no later than 6:45. The program begins at 7, where students present their favorite work, and awards are announced. A reception, provided by the PTO, follows the program. This is an amazing show; grandparents and other family and friends are welcome! Honor and celebrate your children’s artistic talent this Friday. See you there! Pat Wick, Art Instructor.

Congratulations to Centre Music students Anna Godinez-Vinduska and Allie Stuchlik for earning II Division Ratings on their flute solos at the KSHSAA State Music Festival and to Daniel Rziha on receiving a 1 Division Rating on his vocal solo at the State Music Festival. II Division Ratings are considered Excellent performances while a i Division Ratings is considered a Superior Rating. All three are students of Mrs. Amy Harms. Outstanding performances by all three.

Centre USD #397 is taking applications for an assistant girls' junior high basketball coach for the upcoming school year. Practice time is from 1:30-3:15 on school days. Games are played on Thursday nights and some Monday nights. Applications are available on the USD397 website or by calling the school office at 785-983-4321. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. USD #397 is an EOE.

Don't forget the Centre Music Department Concert this Friday, April 29th at 7:00 PM in the main gym. The concert will feature performances from students in grades P-12 and will feature both vocal and instrumental selections. Admission is free for the first 500 people in attendance!

From PAT: Hello Everyone! It’s time for our Annual PAT Zoo Trip! We will be at the Sedgwick County Zoo on May 20th. This is a great time to take your family to the ZOO! The cost for people ages 3 years old and up is $5.00 a person. Children that are 2 years old and under are FREE! We will have a table set up outside the front entrance to the Sedgwick County Zoo. Families will come to the PAT table to check in and will pay there. We will then give you a ticket to get into the Zoo.
